Hi, I'm Jessica.
I live in Indianapolis where I keep busy painting, teaching art classes, and being a mom to three beautiful children. My professional career started in 2004 with being an elementary art teacher. While loving my ‘dream job’, I had a growing desire to pursue my own artwork. In 2013, I stepped out of full-time teaching and set a goal for myself to paint 500 paintings. The purpose, inspired by the daily painting movement, was to paint frequently and small, with the purpose to improve and develop my painting style. The 500 painting journey proved to be a wonderful experience that lasted four years and concluded in 2017. I saw a huge increase in both my techinical understanding by also my enjoyment of painting. I currently sell my artwork in person, at local art fairs, local galleries, and through commisions. I also enjoy being a part of the Indiana plein air painting community. I paint in an impressionistic style. I'm drawn to everyday, relatable subjects such as beautiful flowers and fresh fruit as well as local landscapes. I use bright colors and loose brushstrokes that give a cheery, upbeat vibe. Thanks for being with me as I continue the journey to release more beauty in the world! |
