I've loved my little Mark (the name of my little succulent plant) paintings that I've done...so I decided to go bigger and paint an 12x12!
Painting No. 190, 12x12in, oil on board SOLD Look familiar? I did a little 6x6 painting of this flower and LOVED it....so decided to paint it again twice as big. I'm really happy with how this turned out, I was able to keep my brushstrokes loose and the colors are just yummy! :)
Painting No. 188, 5x7in, oil on board

I was commissioned to create a large painting of this beautiful scene a few months back. This was a super fun project for me to do, particularly because it was a surprise Valentine's gift for one of my best friends from her husband. This is where they were married....So sweet, right? (And yes, it was a HUGE hit!) I really wanted this to turn out great, especially because if I wasn't proud of it, it would really bug me every time I would see it hung up at their house! haha So the pressure was on! :) I decided to paint this little 5x7 first before launching right into my 20x24 surface. I'm really glad I did...doing a little one ahead of time really helps me figure how I'm going to go about things...and it definitely makes me feel more confident when I start the larger piece. The large painting is painting #189, the next up on my blog ...so stay tuned!
Here's my reference photo :)
