Hi, I'm alive...and sorry to have left you hanging here on the blog at painting 199! It's been an entire month since I've posted on here, which in the blog world is like what...a year or more?! Thought I'd check in with my followers to assure you that I am alive and well and off to a very art-filled summer of fun! I am teaching 7 SUMMER ART CAMPS this summer. I have 2 down, and 5 to go. I know this blog is about my own art/paintings, but to know me means to know that I love TEACHING art!!! (Especially to KIDS!) I teach out of a community center in Fortville, IN as well my home studio (my sunroom transforms into a classroom in the summers) in Indianapolis.

Okay, and don't worry, I haven't put my own painting completely on hold (although I have stalled a bit, no lie). Just a week ago, I partispated in my first Paint Out of the year, The Gathering of Plein Air Painters in Noblesville, IN. This was my third year...and WOW, I have to say, I have really REALLY grown in my confidence as a painter. (WooHoo! And wasn't that one of the reasons I started this crazy goal of 500 paintings?!) I know I have miles yet to go, but just thinking back of my first year...I was so CRAZY NERVOUS! This year, there were some nerves, but mostly just EXCITEMENT! It's so much more enjoyable when you kind of know what you're doing! ;) The painting that I submitted for judging SOLD! So YEA!!! You'll see the four paintings I did during this two-day event here on the blog in a few weeks (#209-212). Or if you just can't wait, you can see the spoiler alert I have on my Facebook Page. :)
