Painting No. 214, oil on board, 6x6in NFS Here's a little landscape study I did one night...I just love this photo that I took, it's from the 'back way' to my parents' house. And since my mom and dad are very generous in their free babysitting services, let's just saw I'm on this road quite frequently! ;) This particular night, my husband joined me at the table to paint...what fun! :)
Oh, and why do I sometimes mark my paintings 'NFS' (Not For Sale)...that's because I only want to sell paintings that I'm really proud of and are my best. I'm not downing this painting or others that I've done...it's just hey, I promised to show you my journey, my progress to completing 500 paintings, so I will post them all as promised...but I'm looking forward to being post 500 when I can only show you my best! haha :) Trust me, there's some good ones coming up on the blog...stay tuned! :)

Here's another painting from 'The Gathering of Plein Air Painters' event. I broke a plein air 'no-no' and set up in direct sun without an umbrella (I seriously need to break down a by a sun umbrella for these sitations). I didn't seem too hot, 'it'll be fine!'. Well, 15 minutes later, I'm drenched in sweat and feeling sunburned! Ahhh, so basically I kicked it into high-gear and started working really fast so I could be put out of my sweaty misery sooner than later! So that explains the loose style of these painting, which I actually really love!
Painting No. 209, oil on hardboard, 9x12 inches

This was the first painting I did during The Gathering Plein Air Event this year in Noblesville, Indiana. I just loved this painting spot! I typically struggle deciding what to paint during these type of events, espeically in the morning on the first day! But when I saw this field with its lines and the depth and layers of the trees, I just knew this was "it"!
Painting No. 207, oil on hardboard, 6x6 inches Painting No. 208, oil on hardboard, 6x6 inches These paintings are from my first Plein Air outing of 2015. Thought I'd do a little 6x6 of this bridge right near the entrance of Ft. Harrsion State Park (NE Indianapolis). I was done and had some time left over, and thought...well, how about I try that again and try to go for a looser look with my brushwork? So that's why there's two! ;) It was a good exercise. It was good to just get out for the first time of the year and yet the plein air ball rollin'!
