![]() It's almost Christmas (wow) and 2013 is coming to a close, of course a natural time to reflect. :) I've been thinking about my painting and my 500-painting journey that officially started 10 months ago. I haven't been about to reach my goal of painting 3-4 times per week, but still, I really am amazed at how I've grown as an artist already (currently 82 complete). The photo to the left is from a little craft fair I did a few months ago. It was good for me to work towards a deadline and I was proud to see it all come together. The event itself was pretty much a flop for me in terms of sales though; it just wasn't my market (more of a stocking stuffer type of event). Anyway, it has spurred me on to finding what is my market and how I can connect with people who would love to hang my paintings in their homes! So here are a few of my new (and some refined) paintings goals for 2014:
This is all such a tricky balance. Unfortunately I'm not the type of person who has boundless energy and can stay up late bustling around. I hope that having goals will help motivate me to keep moving forward (and not add more stress to my life). I am very thankful for the encouragement I've received from family and friends about this painting journey. I love that I'm not doing this alone. And a special thanks to my husband Wes who has been cheering me on from day one! Merry Christmas to you all! Love, Jessica Painting No. 72, 6x6in, oil on hardboard
$40, email me if interested Painting No. 70, 9x12in, oil on hardboard $60, click here to purchase I painted this piece to partisipate in the Daily Paintworks challenge 'White on White'. It was challenging indeed!
Painting No. 69, 6x6in, oil on hardboard SOLD Thanks to my Aunt Lois for emailing me a photo of this beauitful butterfly. I was hoping to also post the photo...but my scanner isn't cooperating with me at the moment! Hopefully I can get it up later. It's always fun to see the reference photo along with the finished painting. :)
