These painting studies where done during a 2-day workshop I took with Wyatt LeGrand. When I hear about painter's workshops, they are usually a billion bucks and I think 'who can seriously afford to take these?!'....but it learned about this one, it was reasonably priced (yay!) and considering I was already a fan of Wyatt LeGrand's work, I jumped at this opportunity immediately! Not only do I love Wyatt's loose brushwork and vibrant colors, I really connect with his passion for art education. He is a full-time art teacher, plus is an up-and-coming plein air artist and has been winning awards, selling his work, leading workshops, etc. He's a busy dude! Check out his work here: http://www.legrandartstudio.com/ 8x10in, on on hardboard This was a challenge: Only lift your brush 50 times....yeah, I pretty much couldn't do it, went WAY over! ;) 9x12in, oil on hardboard For this one, we had to start the painting using straight color from the paint tube, no mixing! Then we could go back and adjust color. 8x10in, oil on hardboard Tricky subject! Clear objects overlapping with water....urgh! I'm used to being the only assigned hard projects, NOT the one doing them! haha 9x12in, oil on hardboard
This was painted from a photo...we could paint whatever we wanted and Wyatt circulated around the room to help and offer suggestions. :)
