Painting No. 55, 6x6in
This was my official re-entering of my Journey to 500 Paintings after my month-long break. This was originally painted for my husband Wes's birthday. He did love it by the way! It's of his family beloved sailboat which has many lovely memories attached to it. :) I like that I was able to keep my brushstrokes loose and expressive. The only 'negative' is that I should have done this on a 5x7 gessoboard...it was hard to fit the drawing of the boat onto a square surface....so I ended up taking taking a stripe or two off of the boat to make it all fit and 'work'. A week or two after I finished this one, I made Wes another painting (probably one of my very favorites to date) of this Hobie, on a 8x10 board. So thus, this little one is for sale. :) Only super Hobie-lovers would notice a little height missing on the large sail.
Welcome to my blog!
I'm on a mission to paint 500 paintings. How long will it take? What will I learn along the way? Join me on the journey and follow my progress!
